What is an AI audit?

An AI audit is an independent review of an AI system and how it is governed: whether it does what it claims, treats people fairly, is secure, is overseen by humans and complies with the law. Auditors look at documentation, test the system, and check the records of what it actually decided. Records the auditor can verify independently make the audit faster and the findings stronger.

How it works

  1. Gather the documentation: purpose, data, model versions, risk assessments, oversight.
  2. Give auditors access to decision records they can verify themselves.
  3. Test against the relevant framework: EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF.
  4. Track and seal remediation so you can show what was fixed and when.
